How is was his meeting with Ruben?
It was fantastic seeing Ruben again. We've talked on the phone a few times. Always kept in touch. We couldn't stop laughing. It's a good vibe click that just doesn't go away. Friends are like that. Ten year can go bye and you just pick up where you left off. I guess that's what's happening with Kings Harem. We are picking up exactly where we left off. Literary. The band didn't break up, we just stopped playing. Other stuff gets in the way.
Why meet again?
It's all about timing. Ruben had just finished some obli-gations and was free to record. I had told him in 2012 that the singles were being released. If the response was good I'd call him to let him know. We talked last summer and I told him the songs are streaming world wide and selling. We were all surprised... So I left Ruben another message around New Years 2015 to say hello and to tell him I think we need more songs. :) ...and any video footage he may have of the band. (Someone always had a HandiCam but we had no foo-tage.) He called us back in Feb. (He had been very busy). I said.. its time! Can you do it! He said, sure, ab-solutely! So the first tweet out to the public was when Ruben left for LA. He actually had the master recording reels of Kings Harem with him as a carry on, on the pla-ne. He personally delivered it to the studio that week to be digitally transferred so we can continue recording in NYC. Most people would not understand what we Tweeted but that's what that was about. We should be starting to record in a few weeks. We will be filming that and posting what we can to YouTube. It should be allot of fun. Hopefully we find more video footage. If any NYC fans have footage, have them contact Ruben or here.
Is the style will be the same?
Yes. Most definitely. The first song we will be recor-ding is called," Lost With Out You". A power ballad that will make you cry for sure. We want to make that tune our first bilingual song. I think the key to success is staying good at what you do and being in touch with your fans. The rock music scene has had a turn around with bands from the 80's touring again which brought a revival of that back into the media. Their fans were just sitting around waiting for them to return. So I hope it will be with Kings Harem. Ruben always loved the hard rock. Ruben will continue to do his own stuff too. That's impor-tant for him as a musician for growth.
